Manuka Honey UMF™ 25+ (MGO 1200+) 250g

Manuka Honey with UMF grades this high are extremely rare and in high demand. This is only the second time we have been able to offer this UMF grade. We have only a small number of jars available.

Mānuka honey is made from the nectar of an indigenous New Zealand shrub “Mānuka”, often referred to as ”Tea Tree” because early settlers made tea from its leaves. Its biological name is Leptospermum scoparium.

Some, but not all Mānuka honey have the unique, exceptional anti-bacterial qualities which the UMF™ Honey Association has named “UMF™”, meaning “Unique Mānuka Factor”. There are different strengths of UMF™, indicated by the number following UMF™. It is this factor that has made Mānuka honey with UMF™ an internationally recognised “Super Honey”. The purity and UMF™ strength of the honey is assessed by independent, NZ government approved laboratories who report to the UMF™ Honey Association, which in turn advises honey processors of the qualities of the honey and grants permission for the UMF™ symbol and rating to be used on labels. The batch number is recorded on the honey labels. The honey is traceable to its source.

Mānuka honey is golden brown in colour and has a distinctive great taste.

Waitemata Honey is not pasteurised and is packed in BPA free plastic jars.
